I have specialized much of my training to work with people who are dealing with trauma and PTSD.
I am trained in EMDR, AIR Network and Prolonged Exposure for the treatment of chronic and recent traumas.
More recently I have been digging deeper into Gender Affirming Care and people in the LGBTQ+ community.
In the last year I have become a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS), focusing my training in the Autism and Neuro divergent community. focusing my training in the Autism and Neuro divergent community.
The duration of therapy varies depending on your unique circumstances and goals. Some clients find benefit and progress after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy.
I suggest that people start weekly and then move to bi-weekly, if your schedule allows. After a few months sessions will be reassessed for need of frequency. With each person being unique I help to tailor your meetings with me to your needs.
I was formally trained in Adlerian Therapy. Currently I use a variety of modalities dependent on whom I am working with. I use Strength Based, Art Therapy, Client-Centered, Feminism, Psychoanalytic, Harm Reduction, Solution Focused, Eco Psychology, and DBT skills.
Currently I accept Medical Assistance (MA), most Minnesota Care plans (PMAP), United Health Care (UHC), Aetna, UMR, Hennepin Health, UCare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Mn, NJ and MA, and Cigna.
I do accept Private Pay at $260 per session, and I use Mentaya to help offset costs to work with OON benefits for insurance companies that I am not enrolled with.
I require a 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. A fee of $125 will be applied to those canceling with less than 24 hour notice or ‘no showing’ to sessions.
When we begin working with each other I will give you my work number that you can call for voicemail or text messages to me, but I can not / will not respond outside of clinic hours to maintain professional boundaries.
I am unable to prescribe medications but I can help with getting you connected with someone who will and can help coordinate care.
Between sessions you may find it helpful to journal or reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and goals for therapy. Consider jotting down any topics or concerns you'd like to discuss with your therapist at the next session.
Sometimes I may assign homework, ask you to set goals or have you try new behaviors between sessions.
